Your Friendly Neighborhood Computer Guy (YFNCG) was founded in 2008 as a blog to chronicle my journey as I started a part-time computer repair business. It started off as a personal diary and an experiment of sorts as you can see from my first post.
The site has now grown into a destination and resource for computer technicians and IT business owners of all shapes and sizes.
We focus on serving three types of people:
- Those who are looking to start a computer business but aren’t sure how to get started.
- Those who want to quit their job and take their part-time computer business into a full-time career.
- Those who are currently running a computer business and need some tips and tricks to help grow to the next level.
Some resources I’ve created to help out include the following:
- The Computer Business Podcast
- Computer Business Newsletter
- Computer Business eBooks
- Computer Business Resources Page
- Tech Site Builder (a website platform for Computer Repair Business Owners)
I hope you find something useful here at YFNCG. Feel free to reach out to me with any questions or comments you might have. I love connecting with other computer business owners!
The YFNCG Team
The content on YFNCG is written and managed by real computer business owners. We speak from experience and hope to help you by showing you what we’ve done to grow our own businesses.
Matthew Rodela
Founder, Editor-in-chief, Host
My name is Matthew Rodela, the man behind the scenes at YFNCG.
I owned and operated Jiffy-PC, a computer consulting company outside of Washington, DC, for 7 years. Now I run a WordPress Consulting agency called Aledor, a Computer Business website builder service called Tech Site Builder, as well as the YFNCG website and podcast.
I’m also a member of the Maryland Army National Guard, a musician (trumpet, guitar, and a little singing), and I enjoy movies and outdoor activities.
Paco Lebron
Co-host, Contributor
Paco joined the YFNCG team in September of 2015 as co-host of the Computer Business Podcast and a contributor to other areas of YFNCG. He offers a fresh perspective and much-needed logistical support so that YFNCG can continue to be a valuable destination for all computer business owners.
Paco is a computer business owner, an active participant in many online groups, and a frequent guest on the Podnutz podcasts. Paco founded Prodigy Teks, a Chicago-based IT consulting firm with multiple locations across the greater Chicagoland area.
