Resources Page Launched!

I decided I’ve collected enough information over the past month or two to finally start fleshing out my Resources page over there in the yellow box to your right. Since I’m still in the early stages of starting my computer consulting business, there isn’t a whole lot there, but that will change as I continually add links to resources I use.
The following is a break-down of how the page is currently organized. I have tried to organize it in a linear fashion starting with basic information at the top and drilling down to more specific and advanced services toward the bottom.
- Starting A Computer Business - This is where you should start if you’re interested in starting your own computer business. Here you will find lists, guides, and advice from places around the net.
- Find Work As A Computer Consultant - Before you start getting serious about doing computer consulting full time, start out by signing up with one of these companies to get your feet wet and see if this is really for you.
- Tech Websites- Now that you’re committed to being the “computer guy”, keep up-to-date with all of the latest news and trends in technology. These are websites I refer to almost daily.
- Small Business Websites - Once you have the technology down, you’ll need to start worrying about all the ins and outs of running a successful small business. Here I will provide links to helpful resources.
- Books - I will start reviewing books on my website that have helped me along the way. I will list them here after I review them.
- Well Designed Websites - Once you get your business underway, you’ll want a stellar website. Here I list some examples of great websites that are being used by computer consultants.
- Business Documents- One downside to running a business is the paperwork. Refer to this seciton to get help with what documents you’ll need and how to fill them out along with templates and examples.
- Recommended Services - Here is where I will list the services I’ve used to complete various specific tasks for my own business. I will only list services that I used and was happy with.
I hope the resources page will eventually grow into a comprehensive repository of information and guidance that will help my readers. Take a minute to look through the items I have on the page now, and let me know if you know of a service or resource that I should look into adding. I want to make sure anything that ends up on that page is truly useful.
Last but not least, please continue to comment on posts with anything that comes to your mind, whether it be computer business related or not. Let me know if you gained any value from my website or if you feel it was a waste of time. I’ve already learned alot from your contributions, and I’m sure others have as well. The most important resources on this website are YOU the readers.

Good list of resources. My favorite for troubleshooting technical problems, though, is Google (shh - don’t tell the secret.) One other site, which Google often points to - Experts Exchange. If you poke around enough there’s a free membership available so you can read the solutionsn, too. Last thing - thanks, I really appreciate the recognition and link back to my website, but can you change the URL to just http://www.goodcomputerguy.com ?

@Bill - Yes, google is a great way to find answers to specific questions or error messages! I actually have a subscription to Experts Exchange through my work…I didn’t realize there was a way to get a free membership. I’ll have to check that out. And your URL has been fixed.
@”Motivate Thyself” - Thanks! I’m looking forward to expanding the resources as I continue on my journey.
