Yes, as of 9:01 PM EST, yesterday, September 11th, 2008, I am officially a business owner in the great state of Maryland!  That is the time that I received an email from LegalZoom stating that my DBA and Business License paperwork had been approved and received back at their offices.  It was a process three months in the making, and I’ll talk about why it took so long in my next article.

Needless to say, I’m VERY excited about this! This event is symbolic of the commitment I have made to start something from nothing and hopefully turn that something it into a thriving business.

Now I can begin the work of really establishing my business, getting the website created, getting a business bank account to help keep my business money separate from my personal money, and finishing the rest of the steps I outlined in my previous article “Baby Steps: The First Few Things I’m Doing To Get My Business Underway”.

This is also my opportunity to really start providing you, my loyal readers, insight and information about the steps I take and the lessons I learn on the road to career independence!

The journey is now officially underway!

I am in the way of starting my own business in the computer field (software) and i am a musician too (keyboard/guitar player), and a have a family too, so i know how hard it is to balance life and business.
    I wish you the best.

    Thanks Vladmir!

It seems we do have alot in common. In fact, I’ve noticed there’s a strong correlation between being good with computers and being good with music. Must use the same part of the brain for both!?

Good luck with your endevors and check back here often so we can help eachother our in our journeys!
